Differences on tie rod ends

Post by Atmobil »

I'm looking at tie rod ends for my 65 D100 and I see that rockauto has them listed but only the right hand side. But they do have the left hand side for a D200 but I can't figure out what the difference is between them. Anyone know?

Ask them for the specs and compare to yours. TPI, dia, length, height, etc

Yes, I guess that is an option. But I was wondering if anyone here know if there is a difference and if so, what it is. I have looked trough the service manual but can't see that any details are listed there aswell.

Yes, that is exactly what I thought it would be. But are the D200 parts more beefed up that D100 the parts?
From what I can see it looks to be different lengths of thread on the crew cab and standard cab but the right side parts for a D100 standard cab is the same length as a the right side parts for a D200 standard cab.

The parts that I am looking at are for 65 but did they change any greatly for other years?
I see that they do have both left and right for a 70 D100.

The parts book has the same number for the D100 and D200. One number for left hand thread and one for right hand thread. The D200 crew cab has a different set of numbers.

The tie rod has the same number for D100 w/power steering, all D200 and crew cab up to serial number 1839268. D100 w/o PS has a different number.

The D100 and D200 use the same part number for the I-beam axle as well but the D200 crew cab has a different part number.
The drag link for manual steering trucks appears the same for all 3.
The steering knuckle is different between D100 and D200.
King pins are the same for D100 and D200, except crew cab.
Pitman arm is the same depending on axle weight.
