Front Shackle Lift

Post by michaelg »

I want to lift the front of my 2 wheel drive, '69, about 2".

Has any one used shackles on the front spring eyes to accomplish this? If so, any issues with steering or handling?

A better option I think would be to get new springs, such as an aftermarket set with 2" lift for a W series.
Seems to me shackle lift would alter caster angle, depending on how its done.

All sorts of weird things could happen with a shackle lift. Springs would be the best option.

Agreed. :Thumbsup Shackles or lift blocks aren't a good idea for the front
springs. A pair of springs with a different arch would probably be the best
option.
