Bushing Question

Post by flammulator »

Hello from germany.

I still have the problem with the upper shakle bushing for the front leaf spring that runs through the frame.
Iam looking and searching.
Can someone tell me how the bushing looks like?
Is this only rubber or with metal surounding, one piece or two pieces,....?

1970 D200.

Thanks
Rene

It is rubber with thin metal surrounding the outside and a metal sleeve on the inside. I think the outside metal is normally one piece, but mine were two.

I ended up going with polyurethane for the frame bushings, out of ease of installation.

This is about what they look like (note, random internet pic)

Beats me. My 69 W100 has a rubber and metal upper, with no grease fitting. Since he was specific in his question mentioning rubber: "Is this only rubber or with metal surrounding, one piece or two piece?" I thought he had the same type as mine.

Either way, I think we have his question answered :)

68 and back have the metal bushing,69 and up have the rubber one.
I sold all of my sweptline trucks, except the invisible one. I just couldn't stand to see it go!

Hello.
Thank you all for the answers.
The bushing on the picture looks like the MOOG 266 bushing for the leaf spring eyes.
If someone tell me that these are the same my question will be answerd.
