CV Swap

Post by Cody100 »

I found a 2004 Donor Crown Vic that a guy is parting out, this question is for anyone that has done the swap. Which parts (other than the sub-frame) do I need to get? Some of the parts off this car have been sold already so I want to make sure I don't miss anything.

Thanks
Cody

I'm considering the same swap. You will need the cross member and every thing that attaches to it. Sway bar, power rack, steering knuckle and shaft. There are several utube videos, but none that I could find on a swepline conversion. A lot of good info though.

I'm guessing I'll want the pump and steering cooler as well?

There are 5 videos on a F100 swap by TexasKnowHow on youtube . A lot of detailed info. Do a Google search and it should bring up his videos.

You will have to narrow a 12" long section of the frame to get the clip to fall into place on a Sweptline.

Yes, I've done it. I have a full album of the process documented on Facebook. Look up the "Slammed Sweptlines" group.
