Hello all,
Getting my (new to me) 1969 W100 squared away slowly but surely. Question regarding drum removal on the front axle. Do I have to disassemble the locking hubs to get the brake drums off? I have a Chilton's manual, and its not worth the paper it's printed on! Saving up to get the actual service manual. There seems to be something near the wheel stud, but it doesn't look like a clip (picture attached for reference).
Any advice is appreciated!

I don't know for sure but it looks like the wheel studs are swaged to the drum. The drum and hub would have to be pulled as a unit if this is the case. You probably do have to take the locking mechanism apart to remove everything, but I've never worked on anything like this.
