front axle re&re
Ok sorry been busy trying to make ends meet, its working sort of . got a question just a quick one what is the hardest part of the removal and installation of the front axle, I am replacing the beat up one with a sids -3 lowered, my leaf springs are dead straight, non removed.

Hardest part for me was popping the steering arm off the drag link.(with power steering) I couldn't seem to find the right size fork. Everything else is pretty basic. Just a matter of swapping parts from old axle to new. Good luck!

I'd agree with the last post, popping the drag link from the steering arm with a puller was difficult. But with a little heat it ended up coming out with a light tapping. Otherwise it was mostly just dealing with 50 years of grease and crud on everything. It's not as heavy as you might think. Mine leaned up nicely, here's after cleaning and painted
