Truck is sitting lower on one side

Post by Styxs11 »

Hi all,
I have been working on my '70 Utiline for about 5 months now, and just recently I noticed a large tilt in the truck. All the way down the drivers side, the body and frame is sitting between a half inch to an inch lower than the passenger side. What would cause this to happen? I could understand if a shock went bad, but it seems unlikely that both went bad at same time. Any idea?

Thanks

Did it happen all of a sudden? Check your front springs. You also checked tire pressure I am guessing.

Could be the "Dodge Lean" due to sagging springs. Generally its the driver's side front & it was more common on 70's 4x4's.

Yes I checked tire pressure lol So I most likely am going to have to invest in some new leaf springs? Was hoping that wouldn't be the case. Thanks guys

There are a few good places to get them, Eaton and ESPO come to mind.
