I'm getting ready to install the new king pins with NAPA roller bearings, and had two quick questions in case anyone has done this recently. First, I noticed the retaining bolt in the kit is longer than the stock bolt by about 1/8":
The stock bolt also has that undersized head (that I don't think has been manufactured since about the Nixon administration), but I was more wondering if anyone had any problems with the longer bolt. I need to clean up the threads on the axle also, they are in bad shape.
Second, I wanted to make sure I put the bearing package together correctly, does this look right? (this was from a different project a while ago):
Thanks

Re: Another King Pin question
The bolt tightens against the pin, so as long as it bottoms out on the pin and not the neck, you are ok.
Bearing pic is right. Smaller low cup, larger on top. There may be a washer or two to take out slop.
