power assisted steering

Post by D200 »

My truck has power assist steering and makes tighter turns to the right than the left, is that a compromise in the design or has something been put together wrong? I have disconnected the ram from the steering and it does not make a difference, the wheels turn out further on the right than the left. When it is all the way left it looks like it is very close to rubbing on the control valve.

Look at the part of the axle that the king pin drops through. There should be a bolt sticking out. This is just a stop. My guess is one side is turned out more than the other.

I think you need to adjust the stops on the spindles.
