14" wheels?
14" wheels?
Anyone put 14" wheels on their truck? Reason i ask is while i am working on mine and the want to lower, i have a full set of polished out vintage slotted mags 14x7 front and 14x10 rear with new bfg t/a"s that were for my super bee i sold. I still have to check if the front hub holes will fit but it seemed like a good way to lower along with already having the wheels/tires.Any pics?
thanks
thanks

Re: 14" wheels?
Tested a 14x6 and 15x8 set on my D100 back in 2010. 225/75-14 and 235/75-15. Looked goofy, passed the wheels on to another rodding friend. Should have kept them for my 49 truck...
If I didn't build it, it ain't mine.

Re: 14" wheels?
i did a little cleaning up the bed since it was full of crap, tires, wheels ect and put on a spare set of 14" trailer tires and wheels i had laying around. I really like the stance with the 14's. I guess my slotted 14" mags and t/a's will go on there once i get it to that point.

Exactly. Even LT235/75R15D AT leave too much dead space for my likes. Will be running LT31-10.5-15D AT front and LT33-12.5-15E MT rear.mtnman wrote:what looked goofy? too much open fender well?WD wrote:Tested a 14x6 and 15x8 set on my D100 back in 2010. 225/75-14 and 235/75-15. Even my 1949 Dodge truck will be running 15 and 16 inch rims, in conjunction with a 2-4 inch static ride height drop.

Re: 14" wheels?
This is maybe a bit off topic but when I manage to get to buy a truck I want to try these 6x14" wheels that I have. They are very rare 70s alloy wheels from the English producer GKN. They where called Silverstone and so far I have not found out why there is a 14" set with with the boltpattern 4,5"-5. I have so far not managed to find out what they where supposed to fit on to when new.
I also made a thread about them on retrorides forum: http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/ ... wheel-1976

Re: 14" wheels?
Dodge or Ford car wheels could be 14, 15 or 16 inch with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. My Dad had a 68 Satellite with a 6 pack small block and 14 inch wheels. Traded it in on a 73 F100 with a 360FE big block when I was a baby. As of 2008 the car was still hitting the show scene in Washington and Oregon with that same engine and wheels.

Yes, my friend that I gave me these wheels in a trade said that he got them on a Mustang II (a V8 one) but the strange thing is that they are made in England. English wheels on an American car in Norway :)WD wrote:Dodge or Ford car wheels could be 14, 15 or 16 inch with 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. Re: 14" wheels?
DO NOT run a 14" wheel! Especially when you lower the truck! The scrub line will be about halfway the between bottom of the wheel and the ground. My lowered truck came to me like this, and this was the first thing that got corrected.
Besides, a 14" wheel looks like crap on the truck.

Your wheels are off an '80s Jaguar XJ sedan. Same bolt pattern as Mopar, and even the center (register) hole is the same diameter as Mopar.
