Want to lower 68' D100

Post by PunisherD100 »

Just picked up a 68' D100 a few weeks ago and I want to get it as low as possible. Right now it's sitting on 235-75-15's on stock 15" steelies. Anyone that can offer advice it would be greatly appreciated. Bags may be an option later on but right now I just want to get it low and cheap thanks.

Try removing a spring or 2 if they still have some arch to them. It's a pain in the butt to find the right combo of what spring or springs to take out. Just pick out a day and do it. Might get lucky on the first try. I took out the wrong ones and it was to low. For the rear you can just flip the axle.

My front springs are almost flat already so I'm not sure about removing any? Is there any other way to drop the front?

Flip the axle on top of the springs. That opens up a can of worms though. Most have had issues with bumpsteer when doing the axle flip. Another option is to have Sids build you a drop straight axle for your truck. I never went that route just because by the time you buy the drop axle and disc brakes you could have just about bought a mustang II or crown vic..
