1968 master cylinder replacement

Post by Sweptside »

I have purchased a new master cylinder and all looks good. I removed the existing (bad) MS. I unhooked the brake pedal arm from the MS plunger rod and pull the old MS from the truck including the rod that bolts to the brake pedal arm. The new MS does not have the rod included. How do I get the rod with the eyehook that bolts to the pedal arm off of the old MS? Thanks

It need to be removed forcibly. Clamp old MC in vise to prevent guts from tearing out and remove rod. Will require a good pull. :banghead

And if that fails maybe the one I'm trying to get rid of would work. :Thumbsup

all rods from the master cylinder should be removed before sending in for core charge , also remove the studs because you dont get new studs in your reman master
