I spoke to Wayne, theramman, when I was at Mopar Nationals in Columbus, OH a few weeks ago. He had his prototype there and it looked sweet. He told me that they did a magazine writeup and it should be out soon but of course I forgot to ask what mag. Anyway, Waynes stuff looks to be top notch and I'll be snaggin one when I save some cash up, because I want to keep mine as much Mopar as possible.

Wanted to update everyone on what is happening with this mopar disc brake kit. I just got off the phone with wayne, who is the one doing the machine work and making the parts, he said he is testing the kits on about 12 trucks now and the reason it is taking so long is because there were more variations through the years than was originally thought. He is trying to make sure that the one kit will fit them all. Small things like steering arm and bolt sizes or lengths and brake hose differences through different trucks and small differences in spindles were causing issues. He says he is getting 20 sets made up now that should be ready to go. He also has a power booster that works good with the disc brakes. I did not get to keep him on the phone very long before he had to go so i didnt get all of the details but it looks like the project is still moving forward.
I am still running the original prototype set on my 68 D100 and have several thousand miles on it now with no problems. I will let you know when i have more updates and i plan to get a couple kits to keep on the shelf that i can sell also.

I have the kit and will be installing this on my D100 soon. The kit is very complete down to the last cotter pin. Top quality grade 8 fasteners. Will post pics when I tear into installing it. Wayne has done a few more videos on it as well, including a good one about the work needed to be done on the spindles.

Are they listed on the website? I can't seem to find the kit, or am I looking in the wrong spot?

No he doesn't have the kit posted there yet as far as I know. Call or email Wayne directly and he'll get back to you.

Just watched a few of his videos, those look amazing! Can't wait to stop at his booth in Ohio and talk to Wayne about a setup for my D200.

Just watched the videos on Ram Man's website. He mentions D100 and D200, but not the D300.

Anyone know if this kit will work on a 300? Thanks

It won't. I believe others might have addressed this situation
by finding a decent later Dodge motor home with a disc brake
straight front axle? :thinking :idea

May I ask what the big difference is between Disk and Drum?

Here is an article that discusses the difference between drum and disc brakes:
http://www.edmunds.com/car-technology/b ... -disc.html

Here is a quote from the article:
"Braking involves turning kinetic energy (wheel movement) into thermal energy (heat). For this reason, brakes can only operate as long as they can absorb the heat generated by slowing a vehicle's wheels. Once the brake components themselves become saturated with heat, they lose the ability to halt a vehicle... Unlike drum brakes, which allow heat to build up inside the drum during heavy braking, the rotor used in disc brakes is fully exposed to outside air. This exposure works to constantly cool the rotor, greatly reducing its tendency to overheat or cause fading."

d300wonton has it right. Even though drum brakes are technically more efficient than disc brakes (you can stop a wheel from spinning with much less PSI using a drum rather than a disc), drums can't dissipate that heat into the environment well so they begin to fade. Driving an old Sweptline down from Yosemite is a good but terrifying way to demonstrate this. This problem, as well as the fact that they are not nearly as controllable as discs, makes them an obsolete option on the front axle for something driven regularly in today's traffic.

I was disappointed seeing that the scarebird kit required using both Ford and Chevy parts. I have left a message for Wayne today and am anxiously awaiting purchasing this kit from him and getting it installed because just Friday evening an outer wheel bearing froze and ruined the spindle and hub so hopefully I can exchange my spindles also. I've also had lots of sheet metal in the cart that I need to get ordered from Kenny! Thank you Kenny for the updates on Wayne's kit progression, your products look top notch and I can't wait to order!

Can the brackets be purchased seperately? I know a guy with a wrecked new yorker and he said he would give me the brakes for free...

Can the brackets be purchased separately?
Dunno, but would be worth giving Wayne a call. Just make sure the bores in those old calipers from the New Yorker aren't trashed beyond use.
