Re: new box power steering
I'm eager to get this kit too. After probably a decade of me talking about and researching how to add power steering it will be awesome to just get a bolt on kit and just get it done!

Re: new box power steering
I spoke to Frank yesterday............not good, it looks like we are on the back burner as of right now. They want to work out some bugs to make it a direct bolt on. Kinda leaves me up the creek without a paddle since I based my trucks build on their unit coming in December. Almost finished truck with no steering.

Re: new box power steering
That sucks. You may want to get the kit that Kurt installed and make your own plate based on that drawing.

Re: new box power steering
If you ever want this kit available I recommend everyone that has interest start contacting CPP and state your interest or they will probably drop the project (that is what back burner usually means in my experience).

Re: new box power steering
I made the bracket off Kurts Drawing and installed it. Its works great. Have driven he truck down our dirt road feels good. Have not had on the highway yet, but I'm sure it will be ok. Only thing I'm worried about is the pitman arm, the drag link hole is not the best had to put a washer on it to get it to tighten down and it is an 1" shorter than the old one. Lacks 1/4 to go to steer stop on both sides. Look at my post to see it installed.
Re: new box power steering
I used the grade 8 washer also. I was hoping it was temporary until we get the correct Arm. For some reason my crew gets full steering with the short arm. I may still get a correct arm made it is easy since the box has a Toyota output spline.

Re: new box power steering
OK, I have a friend who has the means to make the plates but needs one to scan and copy. He thinks they will be inexpensive and can make as many as we need. Does someone have the plate spacers etc that they can loan me, absolutely no profit to be made by me, just the work he does.

Can he use any of this. http://redjeep.net/sweptline Download the ZIP file. Every precision machine shop I have ever worked with uses solid works 3D mechanical software to design parts and drive the machines.RobertGilliam wrote:OK, I have a friend who has the means to make the plates but needs one to scan and copy. Re: new box power steering
I have called CPP 3 times a week for the last month and I am having no luck. I talked to Fancisco at CPP several times last year and now he is ignoring me and won't return any of my e-mail or phone messages. I talked to a sales associate yesterday and he said that CPP is not working on any power steering parts for the Sweptline trucks and he was very rude to me. If anyone can make some of the plates curt has on his zip file I will buy one. Lets not let this go away or forget it about it. Thanks Jason
Re: new box power steering
In my opinion the plate is the easy part and not even needed. You can use the plate supplied by CPP for the ford or chevy. The hard part is getting a pitman arm made so its safe and somewhat the steering column connection.
