help! rear axle housing sizes

Post by fosh69 »

I tried the search function, but came up with nothing of value. I'm looking at purchasing an 8.75" axle from a fella that thinks it came out of a truck... the perches were moved at some point and back plate to back plate is a little over 59"... Can someone tell me what the correct width of the truck axles are B/P to B/P? Thanks!

The chart covers A,B,C,E,and F bodies, not trucks but could help identify your prospect.

I have a rear that didn't fit that chart either- it's in another post here somewhere. I think it was 56.5" flange to flange and the perches were 43" center to center. I measured my 67, as best as I could because it's all together and under the truck, and the perches were 43" (maybe my truck is an A body? :joker )
and the length was longer than 56.5. :2cents

I got the same measurements off my S60... I went ahead and picked up the axle, going to look into using it for my 5-lug conversion.
