Proportioning Valve

Post by chilort »

I snagged a proportioning valve out of '77 pickup.

I installed discs on the front. I recently (today) rebuilt the rear drum setup. I need to make sure I don't go for a spin the first time I slam on the brakes.

So, I looked the '77 over and didn't see anything other than this proportioning valve. Is this all I need?

I also need to make sure I've got routing nailed down. The one coming out of the back (left in the picture) should be the rear brakes. The two coming out of the front (right in the picture) should be the fronts. Then, the inputs are on the top. The rear should be for the rear and the front should be for the front. Right?

Great!

I think I'm going to run mostly all new line. When I did the fronts, I ran new line but only single flared the ends. I've borrowed a double flare tool.

I also hope the switch works. I replaced some bulbs in the dash and one that was missing was for the brake. When I put in the new bulb, the light was on all the time the ignition was on. I eventually unplugged the wire at the bulkhead connector.
