Ragjoint bolts
So, I got a new rubber coupling kit from the Help! section at AZ. I took the old one out. I don't think the bolts that were in there were the original or the correct ones. The steering shaft side has one 3/8" hole and one 5/16" hole, while the steering box has two 5/16" holes. All the bolts I took out were 5/16, this can't be right. If somebody could offer some help or even just a photo of yours, I'd really appreciate it!

Re: Ragjoint bolts
When I tore my 70 apart a couple weeks ago, seems like the bolts on the rag joint were different sizes.

Re: Ragjoint bolts
Mine did come with new bolts, but if I install the new ones in the same way the old ones were installed, I'll have a 5/16 bolt in a 3/8 hole, which doesn't seem right. Can I get a photo, please?

Re: Ragjoint bolts
I did mine by myself and wish I'd had an extra hand while doing it, IMHO for this job two are much better then one..wittyhoosier wrote:Thanks a lot guys, I think that'll get me going!

Re: Ragjoint bolts
IMHO ragjoints are insanely dangerous. I have had 2 completely fail while driving!! I would very highly recomend putting in a u-joint. I'm in the process of trying to figure this swap out right now.... anyone have experience with this?
