New tire combo-anyone else run it?

Post by hemidart1 »

by the way, what do you think of my new radial tire combo:
285/70/15 BFG's out back
220/70/15 BFG's up front

right now I have this bias set up:
31-11.5-15's on the back
G78 15's on the front

anyone else run the BFG's

tires

Post by MountainMoparRobin »

It seems like a OK combo I guess, but the taller the tire the more lean you get in cornering and less speed, I only have a 2 wheel drive so I don't need 4X4 tires, actually I should say I like to haul @#%, so I have 275/60/15 on 10" rims in the rear and right now 23/75/15 on 8" rims on the front, but those tires are way, way too tall, eventually will change to 16" or 17" rims with Z rated tires for competition on 10" rims on the back and 8" on the front.

hey robin, daryll (bigt daddy) is selling his 16" torque thrusts for a hell of a good deal. sure would look sharp on your truck, and probably help a considerable amount in your cornering ability. wait..... did i just use the term corning ability to describe a sweptline???? man, i need to check and make sure these are regular smokes i got here  LMAO!!!!

I've got 225-70-15 Goodyear GTs on the front and 275-60-15 GTs on the back, all on mopar cop rims with the cop hubcaps. Looks pretty good. One thing about the 225s is that it sure made it easy to turn.

They will be going on the challenger... but since I have no front suspension at the moment, and the tires on the Jeep are due for replacement, I had to go ghetto and put them on the Jeep (which I personally think is a sin, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do). The tires are a little too tall for the car, so I'm thinking I'll get some 235/40-50 ish to run on the car a while down the road. I think the white wagon wheels go better on my truck than shiny aluminum wheels would... but I'm a little different
Thanks, Clint

On my 71 swb step I am running 295-50-15 BFG on 10" centerlines on the rear and 275-50-15 on matching 7" rims.
All are tucked in nicely.
Now for the next queestioin how can you easily lower the front about 3" without major mods, this is a daily driver.
