subframing question
Anyone know what cars will have the same or very close to the same track width as a D100? I've got an 84 5th Ave 360 cop car and a 72 C body with a 383. I'm thinking of subbing one of them on my truck. Any of you had experiences with this?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Jim nice looking cuda , & welcome to the site get out you tape messrur & try the cop car first , but I think its a little to narrow , if so just heat you from & bend it in that little bit , then let it cool on its own , Its a lot of work Trey is right thou the aspin -Voliar swap s are the way to go , but you 84 should be real close

Frame
Welcome,
If you measure you'll find that the "C" body has the exact frame width as the trucks. The "F" body's Volare and others have shorter widths and will give less track width, thus if you don't plan on needing the cornering abilities their fine. \
The C body crossmember and suspension can be mounted to the Sweptline frame with NO FRAME CUTTING!

No, C body will have to have torsions mount under the cab since they
are not wraped to the front like the F body Aspen/Volary and
you will have to fab some front strut mounts with the C also.
Yes, the C body sub frame is a bolt in at 4 points under
the car body, as with most mopar
torsion bar frontends, but is set up very differant
than other standard K frame front ends, has a large crossmember
instead of a "K" frame that is welded into the sub frame.
The F body is a little under 2" less side to side and a differant
off set to the wheels will make up that, or spacers on the hubs.

below.
May or may not be what you are looking for. There are
other options.
I have not looked a a M body (Diplomat, Lebaron, Grand Fury,
Fifth Avenue 1977-88), may be something to work with?

sell both of those cars for parts and use the money to buy a fat man fabrications front end kit - it will be less hassles, weld-in set-up with rack and pinion, IFS, and mustang II brakes - once welded into your truck it'll be easy to buy parts, etc.
check out daryl's (aka big dad's) truck
if you're just looking for disc and not IFS then buy a set of disc adaptors from aajbrakes.com. they have a kit that bolts up to the solid axle spindles.
