62 D-100 rear drum removal

how the heck do i get these drums off lol...i need to rebuild my brake cylinders but can't figure out how to get to them...this seems like a pretty stupid question but i am at a loss...it has the 8 3/4 rear..

don't bother...simply upgrade to the flange type axle over the tapered axle...

if not, use a big puller and wack on it, with BOTH wheels up in the air. Penetrating oil and heat also helps.

But those brake parts are HARD to find.

Complete axles from later models should be easy to find, and bolt right up.

there is a compleat drum to yoke 8.75 741 1969 truck axle close by,
shoes and rear drums even look pretty good, that
could be had for around $150,

Doesn't a 62 still use the drum style emergency brake? If so I'd get the axle and cables and convert to the rear emergency brakes at the same time. It will make it easier to convert to a later engine and transmission if you ever want to do that.
