Brake drum removel
Brake drum removel
I did a search but nothing showed up. I tried to pull the drums off my sweptline, but only one of the four came off. I was wondering if these 1970 W200's were full floating so you had to pull the whole axle. I would appreciate some guidance. thank you very much
Re: Brake drum removel
For the rear drums, you must pull the axle first.GOPAR wrote:I did a search but nothing showed up. I tried to pull the drums off my sweptline, but only one of the four came off. To get the front drums off, you'll have to removeGOPAR wrote:But what about the front they are semi floating I know that but I could only get one of the front drums. I thank you for your help. I have been learning something new every day that I am on this forum.
the lock-out hub assembly. Inside the hub, there will
be the same type of arrangement as the rear.... 2
large [2.125"?] nuts with a tabbed washer in between
them. Before you re-assemble, you should buy new seals
for the hubs and, of course, re-pack the bearings
after making sure they're in good shape. Also, make
sure the lock-outs are clean, move freely and are
properly lubricated.
