Front end lowering gone bad

Post by cantspel »

Bought a nice 66 D100, /6 2wd last week. Decided to lower it a bit befor running it for the summer. Flipped the front and rear axles. Removed one spring from front for a slight rake. I beam hit the oil pan when bounced hard. No problem, just notch the pan a little. Pull the pan and notched it. When I went to put the pan back on, it hit the oil pump pick up. No problem, just tweak it a little. So I heated it up a little and bent it......and bent it...... and bent it. Spun the motor, and the rod hit it. So I bent it again and broke it off........right next to the threads. Ooooohhhh yeah, now we've got a problem. Finally got the threads out, but now I'm tubeless. Did I mention the the driveshaft is too long now too? :banghead
