I am also looking for any info for this system. Anyone dealt with it? My entire cable system is jammed up for some reason.

Is the brake band still available??

Something tells me this is gonna be ugly. :banghead

the band may be available since is was used
up into the 70's on RV and heavy truck applications,
but I can not say for sure (auto trans only).

You could always get it relinded by a brake relineing
company, most mid size towns will have at least one.
If you have a manule trans this may be your only
option (unless there's a NOS one on ebay).

Cable not moving can be a number of things:
---Rusty cable in housing- soak cable and housing
in oil may get it to free up.
---Over adjustment- turn end of brake handle
counter clockwise to release pressure and/or
adjust cable under truck.
---warn brake shoe to the point that adjustment
is impossable.

I know where there is a complete brake set up for sale, but it's on a big block trans out of a motor home. It's pricey, but if you can't find it anywhere else, let me know and I'll get you in touch with the guy.

last week ebay had linings for sale, they are still out there. i got lucky and as of yet, havent owned a truck with the crappy tranny brake. but there are plenty of guys here who do, and can point you in the right direction. goldie and ben are 2 who have recently restored thiers. you might try a PM to one of them. :Thumbsup
