Red brake light comes on

The red brake light comes on when I'm coming to a stop while driving. It is not stopping as well as it should. It is not low on brake fluid. What could it be? It pulls a little when I smash down hard on them.

I have a '68 W-200 with power brakes.

The safety switch kicks on the light when there is a difference in pressure between the front and back. This could be from air in the lines. Give them a good bleeding and see what happens.
