Looking for some early 15 and 16 inch wheel info

Post by NicksGarage »

I'm looking for two types of early Sweptline style wheels to use on a car and a trailer. Trying to find out what years to look for and what sizes were available. Both are 5-4.5" bolt circle.

The 15" ones are going to go on a '64 Dodge 440 wagon and need to take the early large dog dish cap as seen in this picture. I believe they need to be '67 or earlier.

Need to know what widths were available. They also came on A108 vans but not sure what widths.

The 16" ones are going on a teardrop trailer I pull behind the wagon and need to take the same dog dish cap. They look like the ones in this picture.

On these, I need to find out what they came on and some dimension such as backspacing, width and inside diameter at each step. They have to fit over a funky independant suspension on the trailer. The original wheels were 16" Chevy truck wheels.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

Nick.

Don't mean to hijack but I will axe the question. How do measure the lug diameter?

If you mean the bolt circle on a 5 lug wheel, the easy way to do it is to measure from the center of one lug hole to the far edge of one two over from the first. This will be close enough for you to tell if it's a 5-4.5" or 5-4.75" or other sizes.

This page illustrates it. http://www.mrt-wheels.com/boltpattern.html
