More 3/4 ton disc questions

Post by steven »

Ok guys, Im real close to getting my rotors back from the machine shop, probably tonight or tomorrow. I need to know a few things:

1. Is a 1/4 inch backing plate to mount the calipers on too thin? Or is that ok? Im going to fab one up, and 1/4" seems fine, but wondering if I need to go thicker :thinking

2. Can I keep manual discs? I dont need power brakes, Im a young'n. Plus, that limits the number of people driving it

Thanks in advance :salut

If I remember, my backing plates were 5/16". My vote is the heavier, the better. Shouldn't have issues then.

I have manual in mine, I don't think a power booster is needed.
