Two pics. First just showing off how well CValifornia treats trucks, LOL Second, if you follow the cobweb, you can see the shape of the leaf spring at the trailing edge. Is this a lowered leaf spring for the truck? More then one person has asked if the truck is lowered, I'm used to W200's so have no idea what correct ride height is on a D100.

Spring looks like it is flat. Is this about right? The front springs on every Sweptline I have seen have been flat, which the spring shops I have been talking to tell me is correct.

Did they do that on purpose? Does it look like it's been heated? Is the other side like this side?

Brad, I just went out and checked my early pd '65 and the springs are straight, they are not bent like that. mine sits low enough I bet yours does look like its lowered, did they do the same to the rear springs?

i have seen that before, but never on a dodge. it was done to 4x4 trucks to make up the difference in axle thickness so they would set the same hieght as the 2wd trucks.

Both sides are identical. And curiously enough, the rust pattern around the bend area is same on both sides. I'm gonna say someone had them heated and bent like that to lower it.

It looks like it may have a little rake to it but nothing drastic, it still looks like it sits higher than mine, maybe my springs are shot. When the weather warms up I'll have to do some ride hieght measurements. Mine seems to ride smooth enough I just need to put some rear shocks on it and fix the cab mounts. I like it the hieght it is, makes it easy for the dog and me to get in.LOL.

that sits exactly as my 66 did. it had straight springs on it though. but they were worn out and actually had a bit of a backwards arch to them. a bend like that in a spring would have had to be done by someone who had the right equipment and really knew what they were doing. you dont get that from a torch in the driveway. :Thumbsup

There you go. Yeah they just look bad. And that sucks cause it seems pointless, it didn't even change anything.
