Took apart my steering column for some work on the other end, but with the steering wheel and wiring harness off there is the rotating assembly for the shifter. Right by the upper bearing there are two bolts, on my column there is nowhere for them to go and I reckon there is supposed to be a piece under that bearing retainer . Anybody have any pictures? I couldn't find a diagram.
Update: found a picture with those two bolt off to the side and they had square nuts on them. Where do those lock in at?

Re: Upper steering column
They lock into the side of the bottom half through the square holes. they are a little tricky to catch.

Re: Upper steering column
Thanks we got it figured out. Or at least my dad did he gave a good look over it and said that it was going to suck. I managed to find a couple of sqaure nuts and got It together. Thanks again.
