Hola
Just say, " I would like the inside diam the same as the exhaust manifolds to the rear. A cross-over in this space between the engine and bellhousing. For mufflers do you have some longer high flow types???"
This will up your horse power and if you stick your right foot out, the others that can see ya or hear ya will know that you have a big block.

kit
I also haven't heard of a kit, had mine done at muffler shop
There are no kits available that I know of. My '68
W200 is at the muffler shop right now getting a
custom exhaust installed. I would've liked dual but,
as I'm running a t-case PTO driven LU-2 winch, I'm
going with a custom fabbed "Y" [2.25"] running into
an all 14 gauge flowmaster style with dual tail pipes
running right to the bumper. The set up is a lot like
the "cat-back" systems, but without the converter....
the tail pipes will be 2.5". I was running an all
2" dual exhaust which I thought was too constrictive.
Our local Midas has a real good exhaust "Guru" who
does a lot of custom exhaust work. He sweats the
details and Midas is reasonably priced. I tried the
"highly recommended" local privately owned custom
exhaust guy.... took my truck down for him to look
at and all he did was whine about how tough it would
be to accomplish what I envisioned. His quote was
70% higher than Midas for the same pipe. If I were
you, I'd shop around a bit .

headers are fine for racing, but there is not much to be gained in a truck that is not raced. Just going to duals behind stock manifolds is a major improvement.homebrew wrote:Ok guys and thanks for you input.
I live out in the middle of nowhere and the local mechanic does not have a pipe bender so I guess I will have to take her to town!
Ok to stay with stock manifolds??
