69 W200 - 318 block heater

Post by pawdaddy »

I am in CA and will be going to TX within a few months and don't want or need a block heater. It doesn't look like it would be difficult to remove but, never having done it before I really don't know. Question: Can any one out there tell me of any pitfalls to look out for in :banghead removing it? Is there any special tools or parts that I will need to do it? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pawdaddy :banghead

No big deal.... you'll probably need a chunk of
heater hose [if its tee-d into the hose] and a
block coolant drain plug [if your block heater
uses one of the block drain holes]. I don't know
of any block heater that utilizes a soft plug...
not Sweptline anyhow.... but IF so, you'll need
a Clevite 1 5/8" soft plug :Thumbsup

Thanks for the info. I am putting in a new radiator this weekend and wanted to remove the block heater at the same time. Thanks again, Pawdaddy :Thumbsup
