Thanks,
I'm told that Nascar has found, and now lots of others, that is causes cam failure on all motors with lifters nothing like being notified of the fact that ALL NEW OIL IS ONLY FOR OVERHEAD CAMS ONLY

Robin,
The chemical is zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate, a combiation of zinc and phosphorous. They said the zinc reacts with the cam lobe's iron surface that creates a chemical coating strong enough to keep parts separated to reduce wear. I purchased a case of the GM addative #12345501. Were I work also sells GM vehicles but they can only get it in a case of 12 quantity. They are 4 FL OZ bottles you can add w/ each oil change. If anyone wants them but don't want to buy a case,or they aren't available locally in single bottles. I'm willing to sell some of the bottles. I get a discount on them so I don't have much invested.
