I got a 1967 dodge D-100 with a 318 and 3 speed on the tree tranny... I can't figure out what rearend I have and the ratio....i can't find any numbers and needs some help....Anyone got any ideas on what rear ends were offered?

their are numbers on the rear-end I believe on the drivers side rear your going to see list of numbers on the pumpkin, for the gears simply crawl under the truck with a flash light and on one of the nuts you'll have to clean a tag that will have the number of your ratio ie: 323, 355, 410 etc.

then if there is not tag or door data or your unsure of if it may have been changed, jack up the rear wheels and turn the tire one time full around and count how many times the drive shaft turns...... 3 1/2 turns 3:55or 3:54, little short of 4 turns 3:94 or close, little over 4 4:10 ............. a mark on the shaft and tire will help.
When the wheels are off the ground, if both wheels turn the same direction you have a suregrip, if one forward one backward you got a open rearend.

318 and a 3spd, most likly 3.91's, second most likly 3.55's. doubt its a posi, but its possible. door jam tag should tell you.

what is it?
Well friend,is the rear of the pumpkin round and does the 3rd member come out towards the driveshaft? There are numbers on the drivers side of the 3rd member and either an X,a 2,or a 9. A big x will be a 741(small pinion, 1 3/8")a big 2 will be a 742(fair sized pinion,1 3/4") and a big 9 will be a 489(1 7/8 pinion-but I doubt it's a 489). You ID tag on the inside of the driver door,towards the rear will have your ratio and sometimes it was stamped on the very bottom of your pumpkin. You'll undoubtedly have medium to high gears,if in fact that's a stock setup.
