Old School engine man sees modern technology

Post by MountainMoparRobin »

OK
while workin Friday one of my customers is a Chrysler dealership, a mechanic had a 4.7 liter engine (287 ci) out of a Jeep Cherokee, with the valve covers off and timing cover also removed. The 4.7 had 2 over head cams that sit right on top of the valves and the lobes roll over the valves opening and closing them, no push rods :idea hmm, then to my greatest surprise it has a timing chain not a stupid rubber belt :usa This is the first view of a newer engine, and gives me a whole new outlook on possiblities :dance :study
