Auto Conversion

Post by BlackCSS »

I am thinking maybe of converting my '67 W-200 crewcab to an automatic, and was wondering if all I need for a tranny is a short shaft 727 with the bolt on yoke. I have one out of a '74 Class A motorhome. I would think that a rear crossmember is needed with provision for the tranny mount. Anyone do this conversion? Any problems I need to lookout for? Thanks...... :idea

youll need the short shaft, and proably have to cut out the tranny mounts for the 4spd and hang the proper tranny mount for the auto.

tranny mounts

I think Trey is right, on 69-71 the 727 just drops in but on the pre 69 trucks your mounts are in a different location closer to the front of the truck.
