Looky What I found Today

Post by Hemikuda71 »

Heres what I found today. Dan, the sweptline member that I got this off of said that it needed a carb put on it. I think that it needs more than a carb now!

He bought it that way. Had 2 dead holes. The previous owner thought he had a carburetor problem. Heard it run today, sounds MUCH better. :dance

Thanks Jimmy and yes it does run much better. Now I just have to deal with 9 month old gas and yes I did get it with a FULL tank. Oh yeah, all the gauges work to, all except the oil idiot light but thats getting changed to the extra oil gauge that I have just as soon as I send it off to get the colors reversed as this truck has white gauges and the oil gauge is black, unless one of ya'll have a white oil gauge. Hint hint.

WOW those are lifter rods?? I see those things every day at work, just never mangled like that....is your cam still in good shape or are the lobes worn?

Cams fine. when the push rods bent the cam pushed the lifters up and out of their holes so the cam lobes are ok. Sat there and watched it run without the cover on it for awhile today and everything is AOK! Just have to deal with bad gas now.
