Difference between bb/727 and sb/727?

Have a chance to swap my bigblock 727 tranny for the smallblock 727 I need for my 70D100 and need to know what the difference's between the two are? By visual comparison I mean? Any distinguishing characteristic's to look for, that would make it obvious enough, which is which?
The guy willing to make the swap pulled his 318/727 out of his own 71 D100, which happen's to be just the ticket for me. Just would like to know what to look for before I head down to take a look at his stuff? Figured this about the best place to look for advice and thank's in advance for any info, I get.

to the site , & as for the 727 'ss BB , bellhouseing area is larger then the SB 727 , all internell parts will interchange so check your size against his

Bolt patterms differ, and starter placement is differant (higher on the bb).
