I've got a 727 that started slipping into 3rd on the way home from work tonight. You can kinda get on and off the gas and make it kinda slip between 2nd and 3rd. It's also "chattering" in reverse.

they ar really easy to rebuild. i went through my 64 push button 904. i think including the converter it cost me like $125 or so. then i towed it with the driveline still in it and had to do it again. easy stuff to do good luck. -Randy

That sounds like what happened to my brothers transmission (727). He hacked one out of a van siting behind the shop and had a better shift kit installed and now it bangs the gears really nicely. Theres also a way to mod the trany plate by drilling some holes in the passages to get it to shift whenever you move the linkage, no matter how fast you are going. As an example: going into first at 70mph.

just my 2 cents
