New guy, ‘69 camper special new gas tank

Post by TimNTexas »

Hi folks,
Tried to save the old tank, but found leaky, bad fiberglass repair on back side...
found new Van’s tank, fits fine, but it has a filler neck attached. Old one was through a grommet into the tank. Can I cut off the old filler neck and use it with short hose and clamp?
Or do I need the shorter neck with the hose ridge on the end?

Will work fine with hose coupled section. Early sweptline tanks were done that way. Just be sure to get fuel compatible hose.
