Experience installing NV4500

Post by ronnielombard »

Hi, Is it possible to put NV4500 in D100? I used the original automatic rear cross member to use, but now the small details. How will Trans to Crossmember insulation mount work? Any instructions

I have that trans in a 66 D100, behind a Cummins 6BT. The rear mount is a custom fabricated cross member bolted to the frame.

I also installed an NV4500 in my 62 W100 with LA340 engine. If you are installing in a D100, it is the same idea, cross member can be cut out or modified like in Red383's post.
I cut the transmission crossmember like the factory did for the automatic trucks.
Then made a square tube cross member and used a newer transmission mount (Anchor 2378). My cross member is a bit more complicated as I had to make clearance for the PTO winch driveshafts.
