Post by GOON »

my 3 speed on my 69 D-100 had suffered a broken part ..a previous thread showed that the spacers were out of alignment but today the Teflon bushing ring in the lower gears Shifter next to the steering box was actually broken now I cant shift into reverse or 1st gears I honestly don't know where to find the bushing I need or where to look ... Do you guys think ill need a new steering column with all the hardware

Before considering a new steering column (which may not even be available) I would look into getting just the bushings. And don't limit your search or inquiries to just trucks & truck sites. I suspect that 3 speed equipped passenger cars likely used the same or very similar bushings. 3 on the tree shifters were common to virtually ALL manufacturers & very popular until the late 60's.

I would think a company like Dorman would have the bushings.

I forgot to add that those shifters were popular in the Dodge B series vans until the last 70's/

Yes if you have a pattern & the means available, making new from a better material is an excellent option.
