Hello, I am new to this whole process and wanted to inquire about the possibility of replacing the original 318 out of a '66 Dodge D100, also with automatic transmission, with a 361 out of a '66ish 600? I did read that the flywheel was larger on the 361, but was wondering if they could be swapped? Reason I am entertaining this is my engine has been sitting in a shop for a long while and this nice 361 is sitting in a chopped off cab behind the local blacksmiths shop and I hate to see it just rot. Still has the original sticker on the valve cover that reads:
361 CID

Re: 361 engine swap
You will need everything that's there, including motor mounts, bell housing, starter, radiator and more. That's an uncommon find and worth snagging, even if you don't use it yourself. The front motor mount is extremely sought after. (there are 2 parts to it)

Re: 361 engine swap
Are you wanting to use the 361 with the automatic that's behind the 318? I don't think that's doable, small vs big block.
Swapping the whole motor/transmission combo is doable if you do like he said & get everything.

Thank y'all for the advice and assistance. If I had a better set up and were smarter, this would be neat on another chassis
