Fuel Cap?

Post by chilort »

Anyone have leads on a good fuel cap? I tried NAPA but the one that came in was too big (the part that goes in the filler neck is 1.5" but my filler neck is around 1.4". I don't remember where I got the one I'm running now. It has always leaked if the tank was full and I turned right too hard. The NAPA part looked high quality so I'm kind of disappointed.

I've had good luck with the Stant 10648 from O'Reilly's.

I have been using NAPA part 703-1221, fit just fine, 70 to 62 trucks

703-1220 and 703-1221 appear to be the same except the exterior finish (satin vs chrome). Both have a diameter of 1.5" that doesn't fit my truck. Looks like I may be doing some "fitting."

Thanks for confirmation on the PN.

I'll check it out. Thanks!

Edit: And the published neck diameter looks right.

The local NAPA ordered another 703-1221 for me in the hopes the wrong thing was shove in the box. Sure enough, the one that came today is the right size.
