Hello, I have a ‘68 318 stock longbed. It has a 3 speed a745 column shift currently. I got a 904 from a ‘67 Barracuda to swap in. My questions: It has a slip yoke (not bolt up at tailpiece) on the 745. Might this swap use same yoke and end up at same length to bolt up to my existing drive shaft and u joint? Any tips on this swap would be helpful. I do have a flex plate and will get some kind of shifter… Also, will the crossmember of the frame work as-is or will I need to remove/relocate it? If removing I can cut or find some rivets to drill out? My rear end is 3.33, so will it be a good pairing to the 904 gears? I don't need to tow or go off road on steep hills, etc.
Finally, I just got this truck and don't have any ‘68 repair manuals. Can anyone point to free online versions?
Thanks in advance for insights…
