gasoline
For a 1963 dodge slant six, do you have to add lead substitute for the gas?

Re: gasoline
Original engine does not have hardened seats so it would be a good idea.

Re: gasoline
An old timer once told me to put some atf in with the gas. Don’t know how well it works. It tAkes a while to wear out the valve seats.

Not as long as you would think. Less than 8000 miles on a poly valve job that the shop used some insane soft seats. They eroded to a thin wire ring, then broke and fell out of the head. As they eroded, the valve sunk into the head, valve lash disappeared until they weren't closing and power declined. Re-adjusted about 10 times until total failure revealed wtf was happening.BigBlockTrucks wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 2:47 pmAn old timer once told me to put some atf in with the gas.
