For a 1963 dodge slant six, do you have to add lead substitute for the gas?

Not as long as you would think. Less than 8000 miles on a poly valve job that the shop used some insane soft seats. They eroded to a thin wire ring, then broke and fell out of the head. As they eroded, the valve sunk into the head, valve lash disappeared until they weren't closing and power declined. Re-adjusted about 10 times until total failure revealed wtf was happening.
