Weber carb options.

Post by KCampbellNH »

I am new. This is my first post. Just wondering if anyone has compared/tested the differences between a Weber DGV/ DEVG 32/36 and a 38/38? A few years ago I built a 1960 Ford F100 with a 223 I6 and used a 32/38. Truck runs incredibly well. Am starting on a new project. A 1967 D100 with the 225. I plan to do a similar build on the 225 as I did on the Ford 223; balanced, decked, bored, reground cam, lots of head work, etc. I used an original 1 barrel manifold that I milled the plenum open and enlarged the opening in the carb flange as much as possible before fabricating an adapter. Looks like I could do a similar make over on the 225 1 barrel manifold, maybe even better. I get it, a 2 barrel super six manifold would probably be better but.. I already have a 1 barrel manifold and the 2 barrels seem hard to find and expensive. And, besides the plenum area, I am guessing the intake tracks in the manifold are probably not any wider/ larger?
So, anyone have any experience with these two carbs? Thanks.
