Need engine, want to keep A745 trans

Hi guys! I’m new here. Finally got me a 1967 D200. I just had a question about engine swaps. Right now the truck has part of a slant six. I don’t mind keeping that but have had a serious issue finding an engine close to me. Last one was over 4 hours away and guy backed out the night before I left.
It has a A745 trans in it right now thats in great shape. I’d like to keep it as close to original as I can. I like the column shift and the simplicity of the old stuff.
Does anyone have any suggestions on newer model, mechanical engines that could be used instead of the slant, but can still mate with the A745?

If you like the slant six and want to go that route I would imagine one could be found if you keep looking.

Hello, a 318 will bolt right up to your present setup. You will need truck motor brackets, motor mounts are the same. 318 needs to have the deeper recess in the crank for a standard trans input shaft. Minor mods to engine compartment wiring. You will need a small block radiator. Good luck.
