318 Headers

Post by Commando66 »

I’ve tried the search function but couldn’t find what I’m looking for. My question is what is a good quality, great fitting header for my mildly hot rodded 69 318/727 truck?
Preferably a 1 5/8”-1 3/4” step header or straight 1 3/4”.

Headman does or did make long tube headers for our trucks. Lots of "stainless" (china) shorty headers out there too.

Thanks for the info. I had a couple air of the short stainless headers and sold them. I’ll check out Herman.

That's "Hedman." What was the source of your dissatisfaction with the stainless shorties?

The shorty headers are not much better than exhaust manifolds. Too short to make more power. But the shorties are what i ended up with.

Stans is too much $$$ for me. I just bought some shorties to get it back on the road.
