motor mount replacement

Post by irontwist »

I have a 1967 w-200 with a 318 poly motor. The old motor mounts had a flange turned up approximately 90 degrees away from the frame. On drivers side this flange was facing toward the front, on the passenger side it was facing toward the back. It looks like these flanges could face back or front, what is the correct orientation for these motor mounts? Thanks for your help.

The (2) bolts to frame pad are offset from (1)bolt to engine bracket. Pretty sure they only fit one way. At least that is how they are on the '66 poly in my '67 shorty. :Thumbsup
61 shorty 170/ 3spd 3:91(sold)
66 lwb 318 poly/727/4:10 (sold)
67 shorty 318poly/4spd 3:55
68 ute 318/3 spd/3:55(sold)
70 318/727/3:23
66 d200 225/4spd/4:10( military)(sold)

Thank you for your help. I put them on the same way they came off. The double studs on the frame side are in slotted holes, back to front. Leave those slightly loose, when you lower the motor and tighten the single 3/4" nut on the engine side of the new motor mount it is sets the motor, at which point the 4 smaller 9/16" nuts can be tightened to 40 ft. lbs. The mounts are center line in both directions, so I'm not sure if it makes a difference as far as the flanges go. The Summit universal engine lift plate Model G1015-1 worked great. Make sure to put at least 2 flat washers between the plate and carb nuts.
