/6 Spark Plus Tubes

Post by 61stepside »

Having a problem with the sealing of the spark plug tubes on my 61 /6. I've tried two different sets (from different manufacturers) of tube gaskets to no avail, they still leak. I've never experienced this in any of the several /6's that I've owned. Anyone else have this issue before?

When I was dismantling my slant 6 the plug tubes had been siliconed in; not sure if this is wise or not!

I had a mechanic friend suggest using silicone on them in but it just doesn't sound right and/or correct. Have no idea where to find new ones other than these; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Chrysler-Valia ... 1438.l2649

I used the rubber seals B45384. Got them from rockauto. So far no leaks. I don't drive the truck much but have put a couple thousand miles on it.
